Cross Pointe Mission Statement

OUR VALUES
More Than Beliefs. It's How We Live.
- We believe the Bible to be God's final, perfect Word to man, which is the basis for everything we do at Cross Pointe.
- We believe that every believer in Christ has the Holy Spirit living within, and He is the strength who supplies victory over sin and Satan. This makes each believer a priest unto God and gives him the ability and responsibility to hear God's voice and follow Him.
- We believe that Christ is the Head of the Church and He has gifted His body with a team of leaders who must work together in unity.
- We believe that Christ is coming again, and we must be busy about reaching those who do not know him.
"Sanctify them by the truth; your word is truth."
John 17:17 (CSB)
WHAT WE BELIEVE
We believe that the Bible, consisting of the Old and New Testaments, is the inspired, infallible, and authoritative Word of God. It is the final authority for faith and practice, revealing God’s will for all people.
Scripture References: 2 Timothy 3:16–17; 2 Peter 1:20–21; Psalm 19:7–11; Hebrews 4:12.
We believe in one God, eternally existing in three coequal Persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. These three are one in essence and purpose, yet distinct in personhood and function.
Scripture References: Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14; John 14:16–17.
We believe that God the Father is the Creator and Sustainer of all things. He is sovereign, holy, just, loving, and merciful. He reigns with providential care over His creation and is the spiritual Father of all who believe in Jesus Christ.
Scripture References: Genesis 1:1; Psalm 103:19; John 1:12–13; Ephesians 4:6.
We believe that Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God, fully God and fully man. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, lived a sinless life, performed miracles, and revealed God’s truth and grace. He died on the cross as a substitutionary sacrifice for our sins, was buried, rose bodily from the grave, ascended into heaven, and now intercedes for believers. He will return in power and glory.
Scripture References: John 1:1–14; Philippians 2:5–11; 1 Corinthians 15:3–4; Hebrews 7:25; Acts 1:9–11.
We believe that the Holy Spirit is the third Person of the Trinity who convicts the world of sin, regenerates those who believe, indwells all believers, and empowers them for godly living and service. He bestows spiritual gifts for the building up of the Church.
Scripture References: John 14:16–17; John 16:7–13; Acts 1:8; 1 Corinthians 12:4–11; Galatians 5:22–23.
We believe that all the gifts of the Holy Spirit mentioned in Scripture remain active and available to the Church today. The Spirit distributes these gifts as He wills for the strengthening of the Body of Christ and the advancement of the gospel. We affirm that the Holy Spirit still works powerfully and miraculously according to His will. All gifts are to be exercised in love, humility, and order for the glory of God and the building up of the Church.
Scripture References: Mark 16:17–18; Romans 12:6–8; 1 Corinthians 12:4–11; 1 Corinthians 14:26–33; Acts 4:29–30; James 5:14–16; 1 Peter 4:10–11.
We believe that man was created in the image and likeness of God, male and female, to glorify Him and enjoy fellowship with Him. However, man was tempted by Satan and chose to disobey God, resulting in sin entering the world. Because of this rebellion, all people are sinners by nature and by choice, separated from God and under His judgment. Only through the regenerating work of the Holy Spirit and faith in Jesus Christ can a person be restored to fellowship with God.
Scripture References: Genesis 1:26–27; Genesis 3:1–6; Romans 3:23; Romans 5:12–19; Ephesians 2:1–5.
We believe that salvation is by grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone. It is the free gift of God, not of works, and is received through the confession and belief in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. True believers are kept by God’s power and are called to live a life of obedience and holiness.
Scripture References: Ephesians 2:8–9; Romans 10:9–10; Titus 3:5–7; John 10:27–29; 1 John 5:11–13.
We believe that every believer is called to live a holy life, empowered by the Holy Spirit, displaying the fruit of the Spirit, and walking in love, humility, and integrity. Believers are to be salt and light in the world.
Scripture References: Romans 12:1–2; Galatians 5:22–25; Ephesians 4:1–3; Matthew 5:13–16; 1 Peter 1:15–16.
We believe that marriage is a sacred covenant instituted by God between one man and one woman, designed to reflect Christ’s relationship with His Church. Sexual intimacy is to be expressed only within this covenant relationship.
Scripture References: Genesis 2:24; Matthew 19:4–6; Ephesians 5:22–33; Hebrews 13:4.
We believe that the Church is the body of Christ, composed of all true believers from every nation and age. The local church is a visible expression of that body, existing for worship, discipleship, fellowship, service, and evangelism.
Scripture References: Matthew 16:18; Acts 2:42–47; 1 Corinthians 12:12–27; Ephesians 4:11–16.
We believe that Christ instituted two ordinances for the Church: Baptism and the Lord’s Supper.
Baptism is an outward testimony of inward faith, symbolizing the believer’s identification with the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ.
The Lord’s Supper is a memorial of Christ’s death and a proclamation of His return in which all believers may partake.
Scripture References: Matthew 28:19–20; Romans 6:3–4; 1 Corinthians 11:23–26.
We believe in the personal, visible, and imminent return of Jesus Christ. He will judge the living and the dead, reward the righteous, and establish a new heaven and new earth where righteousness dwells. Satan and his hosts, along with all who reject Christ, will be separated from God, enduring eternal punishment, while believers will dwell eternally in the presence of God in glory.
Scripture References: Matthew 24:30–31; 1 Thessalonians 4:16–17; Revelation 20:10–15; Revelation 21:1–4; 2 Peter 3:10–13; Matthew 25:41, 46.
